Production

Founded in 1975, activity began under the name Colata Continua Italiana (CCI). The capacity of the installations was gradually developed, growing from 44,000 tons produced in the first year to the current capacity of over 270,000 tons.

The factory

The factory covers an area of 100,000 square meters and produces copper wire rod using Southwire® technology, in various diameters from 8-23 mm, as well as for applications for extrusion lines on Conform®-type machines.

Southwire system

T he original Southwire SCR system was regularly modified in collaboration with the manufacturer and the best industry experts. The expansion of capacity and the particular attention given to improving qualitative features and to the ever-increasing focus on environmental protection, allow us to today offer wire rod that responds perfectly to the most sophisticated market demands.

Production capacity is over 300,000 tons/year. This plant is also the production site of all the semi-finished copper products manufactured by Carlo Colombo S.p.A., such as bars, rods, cables, wires, multiwires, and stranded wire, with a total capacity of around 70,000 tons/year.

Production

At the Pizzighettone production plant, besides the continuous casting installation, there are also numerous lines for a wide range of semi-finished copper products, such as breakdown machines, tin-plating machines, multiwire machines up to 42 wires, stranding machines, bunching machines, extruders, and machines for producing copper bars and rods.

Colata Continua Italiana SpA continues to make productive investments by updating and expanding the production machines, implementing new technologies, and paying special attention to the quality of its products.
